Open Poetry Readings for East Midlands Women: Saturday 10th March

Cost: £8 or £6 concession (Price includes lunch).

Featuring performance poet Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze, poet and lecturer Catherine Byron, poet and singer Carol Leeming and Myra Schneider, author of eight poetry collections and three novels for children.

The Leicester-based women’s poetry group Soundswrite has received support from Arts Council England to hold a one-day poetry event at the Peepul Centre to celebrate women’s poetry writing in the East Midlands. The four featured poets will run workshops in the morning to allow women to explore their own writing. The afternoon is an open poetry reading with readings by the featured poets and other published East Midlands women poets. The afternoon event runs from 2pm - 4 pm and is FREE and open to everyone. Morning workshops are open to women only. Places are limited to 12 participants per workshop so early booking is advisable.
