Poetry in Leicester this Summer

SLAM SEASON PREVIEW

Leicester Libraries live literature programme continues through summer with SLAM, a season of spoken word events. Heading the programme is the Freedom Showcase, marking the abolition of slavery in the words of nine of the regions most talented spoken word artists. Top quality storytelling features in Twisting Field, stopping in Leicester as part of its national tour. The Brighterside presents Leicester’s first ever Slam competition to find the city’s best poet and Mehfil-E-Shayeri celebrates its first year with multilingual poetry and singing.
