An evening of poetry at the Free Word Centre

Arvon and The Poetry Business present an evening of poetry to launch the debut collections of two Arvon/Jerwood 2009 mentees, Maitreyabandhu and Carole Bromley. They will be joined by their mentor Mimi Khalvati.

Mimi Khalvati has published six collections of poetry with Carcanet Press and her most recent book, The Meanest Flower, was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation, a Financial Times Book of the Year, and was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Her work has been translated into nine languages and she received a Cholmondeley Award in 200.

Maitreyabandhu has won the Keats-Shelley Prize, The Basil Bunting Award, the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize, and The Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet competition 2010. The Bond is his winning pamphlet.
Carole Bromley has two pamphlets with Smith/Doorstop (Unscheduled Halt, 2005, and Skylight, 2009). She has won first prizes, in The Bridport and Yorkshire Open. A Guided Tour of the Icehouse is her first full collection.
